Verne’s dedication to music is born out of legacy. He was raised backstage watching his Father Verne Allison of The Dells make history. Verne Anthony began his own journey at Millikin University in Decatur Illinois, receiving the degree of Bachelor of Music. Upon his return to his native Chicago, he sparked his career in music as a freelance drummer and singer. He realized a fire.

Verne Anthony Allison has performed as a drummer for: Gladys Knight, Stevie Wonder, Jennifer Holiday, Slide Hampton, and toured with: The Dells, The Emotions, Bloodstone, Nick Colionne, and Joan Collaso to name a few. Verne has sung with: The Dells, Dionne Warwick, Howard Hewitt, 2 tours (“Born into the 90’s” and “12 Play”) with R. Kelly, and Robert Townsend’s Partners in Crime, to name a few more.

Verne has penned songs for The Dells, “Can We Skip That Part” featured on their CD The Second Time, “Baby Come Back”, “Reminiscing”, and “I Need You” on their CD entitled Reminiscing.

Verne Anthony Allison is currently the drummer for The Dells, lead vocalist for the High Society Orchestra of Chicago, on the “A” list of studio drummers, and leads his own jazz project RETRO SJF (SoulJazzFunk). Verne continues to write and produce songs for various artists. A writer and publisher affiliate of ASCAP and endorsed by Sabian Cymbals.
